We didn’t choose Dorper sheep by accident.

When we started looking at what kind of sheep we wanted to build our farm around, we wanted animals that could thrive in Minnesota-not just survive it.

Dorper sheep checked a lot of those boxes.

They’re hardy, productive, excellent mothers and efficient animals that perform well on pasture. Just as importantly, they can produce the kind of meat that belongs at the center of a good meal.

Our goal isn’t simply to raise more sheep. It’s to raise better sheep.

We’re selecting for soundness, maternal ability, growth, hardiness and meat quality while continuing to build a flock we’re proud to put our name behind.

Our sheep spend their days on pasture, and our lambs receive a grain supplement as they grow out on pasture for flavor, tenderness, and a taste we prefer.

It’s a simple philosophy:
